CNY - Day 8 [cont...] & 9: V-Day Celebration

So, on V-Day itself, Yaacob and I went to collect our tickets for the movie, Jumper @ Cineleisure then walked around trying to decide on where to eat. Most of the restaurants were full and had long long queues at the entrances. We walked past Manhattan's Fish Market and decided to eat there since it's the only place with no queue outside it. Bad choice! It was a total rip-off!!!

There was no ala carte menu and we were forced to choose from 4 V-Day set dinner which cost RM49-59 per person. The food sucks, service was lousy and the entire place made me smell of burnt fish and fries for the entire night. Urrghh... I just hate how commercialised V-Day has become. I could see girls selling roses all over the place and a group of kids walking around with their guitars, lookin for some suckers who would be willing to pay an exhorbitant amount of price for them to serenade their gals.

Not worth it. From now on, I celebrate V-Day on the 15th of Feb. And no more going out for dinner on the day itself coz everywhere is a rip-off. Hate commercialism like this, man!

The next day...
Yaacob sneakily dropped the flowers at my house while I was showering and pakat-ed with my mom. I got outta the shower and stepped into my room to find this lovely bouquet of white roses [my fav] lying on my bed. WOW!! I picked it up and inhaled the sweet rose scent with glee. Then, I looked around suspiciously, wondering if Yaacob was hiding somewhere coz if he was, I'd die! I looked totally dishevelled after my shower. I went downstairs and looked at my mom who so tried to look innocent.

Me: "Where is he?"
Mom: "What?" [struggling to keep a straight face, fail la mom, can't act!]
Me: "The flowers..."
Mom: "Hmmm? What flowers?" [mock surprise look]
Me: "The flowers on my bed..."
Mom: "Urm, dunno... Maybe they flew in by themselves..." [innocent look]
Me: "I know it's from him la. Where is he?"
Mom: "I dunno what you're talking about."

I give her credit for trying. Really. Sigh.. Damn fail la my mom. Can't lie for peanuts, wei...

I called Yaacob and within a few seconds, busted him. Hehe...

I got ready and met him at his house. We exchanged pressies. He gave me my all time fav perfume and I got him a card and a money clip. We then went to Il Divo for dinner, where we got such good service, I'm definitely going back there for dine again. The owner, Vincenzo was such a friendly and warm fella. He would talk to each table's customers, building rapport. And when our food came late, he gave us 20% off the total bill and took time to explain to us the reason for the delay. Nice guy. Food's great and price is reasonable. I totally recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy nice Italian food and wine at a reasonable price. It's located at Desa Sri Hartamas opposite Coffee Bean, the same row as the Perodua showroom.
