I like writing and I think this workshop will help enhance my professional writing skills. I want to learn how to write kick-arse letters, proposals, presentations, etc.
BIG MISTAKE!!
The 2 day workshop was actually meant for people whose command of English are very poor and need guidance in constructing simple emails. Aaaarrgghhh.... They should have listed down the objectives of the workshop before asking people to sign up. Coz the name of the workshop was so canggih, I thought it's a super-pro English training kinda thing. Damn misleading!!
On the morning of the first day, I arrived at the resort and met up YY at Highlands Hotel after getting coffee [for her] and hot choc [for me]. Both of us didn't know where the training room was so we asked around. A staff at the lobby told us the venue was located half an hour's drive from Highlands Hotel. We were like "WHAT??!!!" I fished out a printout of the training confirmation email and showed her the address. A limo chauffer and a bell boy were there as well and after taking a look at the printout, told us the training venue was nearby. They pointed at a road and told us to walk down the road. The training venue was 500m away. YY and I were like "WHAT??!!!"
500m??!! That's like half a KM! The weather was damn cold and windy that morning and I was wearing a skirt and 2-inch heels. How on earth would I be able to walk half a KM down that winding road with my heavy bag?? I think the chances of me falling over and rolling down the road were higher. Urrghh...
YY and I both decided to take a cab there. The limo driver, bell boy and the staff discussed among each for a while, then they were like, "Go, go, go! Hurry Hurry!!" The limo driver ran to open the Mercedes' booth and the bell boy took our bags and shoved it in there. "Hurry, hurry!" they rushed us into the car. Wa... They actually gave us a ride to the training venue. So nice of them and so lucky of us!!
We reached the building in style [in a limo! Who goes for training arriving in a Mercedes limo??!! Hahahaahaha], but we didn't know where the training room was. We wandered around the ground floor and bumped into Mr. Chin, the director of Club Elite. He was kind enough to show us the way to the room. YY and I were feeling damn lucky coz we met such kind people that morning :D
That's when the luck ended for me and the drama happened!! What's new, especially it's 'me', right?? Hahaha... While waiting for the training to start, I saw YY sipping her coffee with ease while I was struggling to take half a sip of my hot choc. It's so hot it was almost scalding! She told me to take the cover off the cup, then my drink would cool a bit and it'd be easier for me to drink it. When I did, OMG, the hot milk from within sprayed out like a geyser!!
Aaaaaaaaaaargghhh...
I should name my hot choc 'Lady Luck'!!
I ended up smelling like milk for the rest of the day >:(
The training room had a funky smell which I couldn't tahan, so I hadta resort to putting on YY's lavendar hand cream all over my palms, buried my face into my hands and breathed through it the whole time like some psycho person who has a fetish for smelling her own hands. Urrghh...
Training was boring and the food served was horrible. Matthias was our 'kuli' for the day coz he hadta help carry our bags when we made our 'journey' from the training room to our hotel room when day 1 ended. The walk was damn long and we hadta go up a slope. I almost toppled over in my heels. Before I reached the hotel, my right foot was starting to hurt. Now, it's swollen :'(
Thank gawd we had good entertainment that night. Went to watch the new resident show 'Dreamz'. It was really interesting. I was damn 'kan cheong' when the acrobats were performing. They were throwing the lil kids around in the air, the kids did some summersaults before landing on the bigger acrobats' hands. Really amazing...
The bikers who rode in the sphere were also great. I was so shocked when the 4th biker came on stage and rode into the little sphere. How could it fit all 4 bikes???
The main attraction of the show were the white lion, the white tiger and the 2 sheep dogs. Such adorable creatures!!! White tiger I've seen before, but I've never laid eyes on a white lion. It was a beautiful creature. The lion and the tiger were extremely tame. Like dogs. I wish I have a white lion and a white tiger as pets. But it won't be cheap keeping them. The amount of meat they consume is crayzee!! When the show ended, there was a pic taking session with the animals. RM60 per pic. Expensive!! Surprisingly, a lot of people were willing to part with their cash and got in line to have their pics taken. Hmm.... The owner of the animals must be making damn a lot of money each night just by letting his animals' pics taken.
The next day was boring as hell and the food were still sucky. I was so glad when 5.30pm rolled in and we were all released from the workshop. Happily jumped into the cab to go home.
Aaahhh... Nothing beats home sweet home :) No more training for me!! I've fulfilled all the hours. Unless its really interesting and beneficial for me!!
