Ready, Aim, Fire!!!!

On Tuesday, we had an off-site workday. To reward us for our efforts and work performance for the 1st 2 quarters of the year and to kick off the 3rd quarter work year, our department had a team building outing. The selected activity: Paintball. Venue: Bukit Tinggi.

I rose early that day coz I couldn't be late. I was gonna go in my boss' car and I don't think it'll impress him if I made him wait. So, at 5 minutes to 8am, I was near TTDI [the meeting point], and since I didn't know where exactly my boss lives, I decided to call Alice. She said she was waiting at the bus stop. I drove past several stops but I didn't see her car, so I called her again:

Me: "Where are you?"
Alice: "Bus stop..."
Me: "I drove past the bus stop, I didn't see your car."
Alice: "I didn't drive... Oh, I think I saw your car past by. Make a u-turn. Come back out and park near the bus stop."

So, I did as told. The problem was, I hadta park my car there the whole day and I didn't know how much money I needed to put in the parking meter. Just as Alice and I were frantically digging into our purses for all the coins we had, my boss pulled up at the side of the road. After we put in all the coins that we had in the parking meter, which was a mere RM3.50, my boss beckoned to Alice, who went to the side of his car, only to have him ask her to tell me to park in his condo's parking. Wad la... He should have told me earlier, not wait til I finished putting ALL my coins into the parking meter!!!

We set off and met up with the rest at McDonald's to have breakfast.
Then, Milton decided to be smart and drove ahead of all of us. All of us tailed him and in the end, sesat jalan. My boss then decided to lead the way and not long after that, we reached the clubhouse which was the paintball venue.

As we walked into the paintball counter area, we saw a tanah lapang. All of us exclaimed "Wah, no where to hide, sure die, kena tembak kau kau!!"

Then, we were asked to fill in a form to sign our lives away... Haha... Just kidding, we need to sign this form so that if anything happened to us, the paintball company would not be held responsible.

Then, the briefing began. We were told how to operate the gun and briefed about safety measures. Then, we selected which games we wanted to play.

We geared up after the briefing session and took some pics before the 'battle'. I can't help doing some Darth Vader impersonations coz seriously, I thought all of us looked like extras outta Star Wars.
We were divided into 2 groups. Our group didn't really have a plan, so we lost the first 3 games. *Malu*

There were a lot of shouting and screaming and I could see orange gelatin balls flying at top speed all over the place. We were told the paint's edible but I don't think anyone will wanna taste it.

I hid behind some tong, but still kena the paint coz during the last game, it was us against the marshalls, and gosh, were they sharp shooters!! Their pellets came fast and furious. Attacking us til we couldn't even tembak back. The pellets hit the tongs and splattered all over, and the paint came in between the tongs and stained my clothes.

So, in the end, even though I didn't get hit directly, it seemed as if I died many times in the war field coz of my orange splattered top!! Urgghh...

Milton so semangat he joined the marshall's team and in the end, got hurt and bled.

Ray Mak also too semangat, til he K.O-ed after only the first game. He was panting and looked scarily pale, so he hadta sit out for the rest of the games.

After the 'war', everyone washed up and chilled for a while before going for late lunch.
We had lunch in a restaurant in Bukit Tinggi, which had a funky smell.
After lunch, everyone seemed to be really amazed by the vegetables and fruits sold at a stall outside the restaurant. For some strange reason, green leafy vegetables and bananas fascinated my colleagues so much they spent a long time at the stall. buying the fruits and taking pics and sampling the bananas. Like we can't get all these in KL. Weird...

While waiting for everyone to be done with their fruit and vegetable shopping, Alice decided to humor us by giving us some 'vogue' poses. Buat lawak... Made us laugh so much, we almost rolled down the street.

Then, sat in boss' car for the journey home. I discovered it's really exhausting to force myself to stay awake when I was damn sleepy. Coz, during the whole car ride back from Bukit Tinggi, my eyes were threatening to shut anytime, eye lids were so heavy, but I forced them open coz I didn't wanna fall asleep in boss' car. Alice very hero, she slept til her head was jerking here and there, til boss stared at her each time her head made jerky movements.

Got home, showered and crashed. Woke up the next day with aches and mosquito bites all over.

Next time I go for paintball in hutan place like Bukit Tinggi, I'll be more prepared. Will bring lotsa mosquito repellent coz the mosquitos there are not like the ones in KL. Their bites are big, itchy and painful. Urrgghhh....
