I was totally in awe after the movie ended.
This has to be the best Batman movie, no, no, lemme re-phrase that... This has to be one of the BEST movies ever made!!
I was still glued to my seat a couple of minutes after the movie ended coz I was too blown-away. The awesomeness of this movie. This is really one of the best, BEST superhero movies in film history as it stays true to the comic, superbly intelligent and oh so thrilling, the action scenes had me as the edge of my seat.

This is one of the fav scenes. The joker is funny and psychotic at the same time. Heath Ledger really delivered a sterling performance. I read somewhere he heard that the director of Batman Begins is going to shoot The Dark Knight and he met with the director to propose on how the Joker should be. And the director bought it. So, this means, the Joker in the movie, how he is, was all conceptualized by Heath Ledger. Such a pity he won't be in anymore movies :'(

Cutie Heath Ledger, as all of us know, played the Joker to perfection. Still remember the first ever movie I saw him in ~ "10 Things I Hate About You" with Julia Stiles...

I wonder why 2-Face was not publicised in this movie. It's all about the Joker being the villain. The producers didn't mention 2-Face is featured as well. Well, I remember Harvey Dent being 2-Face's real name but I thought he'd appear towards the end of the movie and there'd be a part 3 where 2-Face will be the main villain.

Gary Oldman played Jim Gordon. He's such a versatile actor. I remember him being Sirius Black, Harry Potter's godfather in the Harry Potter movies, first appearing in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban [the 3rd movie based on the 3rd Harry Potter Book] and he's hardly recognizable in The Dark Knight. Wow!!
The wonderful Michael Caine as Alfred. Without such a strong supporting cast, I don't think The Dark Knight will end up so good.
Of course, we can't leave out Mr. Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox. As usual, his acting is superb.
The love interest of Batman in this movie, Rachel Dawes [this character was specially created in Batman Begins and is not in the comic], the only female in the movie, is played by Maggie Gyllenhaal.
The original Rachel Dawes ~ Katie Holmes aka Mrs. Tom Cruise did not return for this sequel citing conflict in schedules. Hmmm... Really? Or Mr. Cruise is not happy with his wife returning to the set of one of the most anticipated movies of the year and stealing his spotlight...

A BIG BIG BIG applause to genius director Christopher Nolan for giving us such a great film. I am truly fascinated at how he managed to turn just a superhero movie into an intelligent, action-packed blockbuster. Surely a few Oscar nominations are already in line.
Mr. Nolan was also the guy who gave us The Prestige. Another superb movie [also starring Christian Bale].
Let's hope he continues to glue us to our seats with many more awesome movies in the future.
