Ladies and gentlemen, I proudly present my new baby...

The IXUS 85 IS

Finally, FINALLY I got my birthday pressie after months of hunting, researching and undecisiveness. Mostly it's my fault for not being able to decide on which camera I want. At first I thought the IXUS 860 IS looked real cool. Then, after going to shops to look at it again, it seemed pretty big and bulky. Can't fit into my small dainty clutches for nights out. I was really undecided on which camera I want, which function is important to me, etc, etc.

After a long long time of looking at cameras in countless camera shops, talking to many shop assistants and surfing the net, I decided, ok, I think I want the IXUS 85 IS coz it fits what I want. It IS the slimmest IXUS with 10.0 megapixels, optical image stabilizer and face detection [among many many other functions]. So, Yaacob and I started going to shops to ask about this particular model. But ALL of the shops we went to had the one with the matte black lens ring:

I want the all silver shown in the website. What to do, all shops don't have this model in stock. Have to wait...

My decision to get this camera was further confirmed when I teman-ed my sister Jebb to the Canon shop at 1U. She wanted to get this model too. The sales assistant there was particularly enthusiastic and demo-ed to us the various functions of the camera. The ones which amazed me are the color switching ones. So COOL! [ok, maybe this function has been around for ages, but being the tech-idiot that I am, I didn't know! I don't have extensive knowledge on the latest tech gadgets i.e. laptops, ipods, cameras, mobile phones, etc. I am happy with what I have until it breaks down, only then I do some research on which new ones to invest my hard earned $ in. Normally, I don't research about this kinda stuff, hence my limited knowledge in this area].

So, after that demo, I confirm want this camera. But in whole SILVER, which was so hard to find!!! So annoying, coz finally I decide which camera I wanted, I can't find it in the color I like. Grrrrr....

Then, Yaacob found it!! Waa... My hero!!

So, today, he took me to the place where he found it and bought it for me, my long awaited pressies!! Sighh... He's such a sweet bf :)

We got quite a lot of freebies ~ free Canon bagpack [it's either the bagpack or an umbrella. Of coz we chose the bagpack!], free mini tripod, free screen protecter, free 2G SD card and a free software for creating our own website or something.
