MERDEKA!! MERDEKA!!! MERDEKA!!!

On Merdeka eve, I was stuck in a stupid jam for almost 1 and a half hours, just from TTDI to Velvet. Grrrr....
JP drove and everyone was feeling really frustrated and restless in the car. As we were stuck in traffic with nothing else to do except talk crap [the guys were the ones mainly making silly talk] and look out the window to inspect our surroundings, I discovered an interesting phenomenon. Mat Rempits are drawn to bright sparkling lights in the sky. Why?
When the clock struck 12am, the firework displays were on from Dataran Merdeka and various parts of KL. Upon realizing the fireworks in the sky, ALL Mat Rempits stared up towards the fireworks, got excited, started honking like mad and rode fast and furious towards the lights in the sky. I saw a mad dash of dozens and dozens of Mat Rempits speeding past JP's car towards the fireworks. When we finally reached the end of the street, most of the Mat Rempits were there, standing beside their bkies, mouths open wide in awe, staring at the fireworks as if its the most magical thing they've ever seen in their lives.
Interesting, huh?
Well, as you can tell from my story above, I was still stuck in the car when it was midnight and everyone wished everyone a half-hearted "Happy Merdeka" coz all of us were feeling rather tired of the jam and sleepy at that point. Someone suggested we ditch the Velvet idea and just go have 'Bak Kut Teh'. Hahaha...
We did end up at Velvet. Not til about 12.30am. Got in at 1am, not because there was a long queue [surprise! Surprise!! No queue at all!!! Empty!!!! Ta daaa!!! Shocking, huh?] but coz we were waiting for other people to arrive to go in together. Velvet was pretty empty. Not as crowded as the previous Saturday. I like it. I like the space and the fact that I didn't get squished and stepped on by just standing at 1 spot. I could actually move and dance freely... Yippeeee :)
Wish Velvet's like this all the time... Hehehehehehe...
Essie, who was back from the states and who got her camera stolen the week before, fished out her 'borrowed' camera and started snapping pics like crazy [as you can see from the pic above]. She's such a mad, super-funny person. I find her really really hilarious!! Am gonna miss her funny talk [she's went back to the states last Tuesday].
I had fun. I like it when it's not crowded. And I like it when Loo's drunk. He's very amusing and entertaining when he's drunk. Clement and I had such a good time pulling his leg just to see his reaction. Hahaha... No offense, Loo!! It's all in good fun :D Lam got picked up by a Thai girl and he got scared. Asked me to pretend to be his girl for 3 minutes to shoo that girl away. Not bad, Lam. Still have value in the market. Scored a free shot from the girl ;)
All the craziness that happens in the club, especially when most of my friends are drunk, are never to be missed episodes. Hahahahaahahaaa... LOL!!!
Happy Merdeka, people!! Hope all of you had a good time, too ;)
