Mid Autumn Festival

Yup, today's the Mid Autumn Festival but I don't see anything festive around my housing area. No kids playing with candles and lanterns. No families enjoying the full round moon while eating mooncakes and sipping tea [not that there's much of a moon tonight. It rained!!]. Hmmm... As the years go by, the festive mood for these occasions seem to simmer down to almost non-existent. I remember when I was a kid, the whole street will be full of lanterns and parents will be bringing their children for walks, greeting neighbours, etc. TVCs, print ads and radio ads of the Mid Autumn Festival will be bombarding us a couple of months before the actual day.

Now...

Nothing... Really nothing much. Don't sense the festive mood at all!! What has the world become? Are we slowly forgetting and forgoing all our traditions, values and festivities? Are we not bothered to celebrate anymore??

Hmmmm.... I hope this year's Christmas and next year's CNY will be more alive than this.
