We had our first family BBQ at home just now. Jebb suggested it so she was the organizer [she was inspired by the tiny lil BBQ grill we got as a Christmas pressie]. She and Mom bought all the food and the sauces. Soo borrowed a proper grill from her bf since our mini grill couldn't really cook any of the food properly. The night before, my sisters marinated all the meat. My uncle set up the fire at about 6pm and by 7pm, the grill was ready to cook all the yummy meat. *Drool*
We took turns to cook the food. Then, sat, ate, drank wine and talked. It was a fun, relaxing little party. I love it when the family gets together, have good talks and spend quality time together. Jackie's maid made 'ikan bakar' wrapped in leaves and 'otak-otak'. It was quite tasty.
All of us sat outside til quite late, then it was time to clean up and pack up the remaining food. The only downside of having a BBQ at home is that the entire house smells of grease and cooked food for the whole following day. Next time, we shall have a steamboat family party.
